Being a Poet
Sept 11, 2010
By Rose Marie Rideout
If you can use your imagination,
You will soon realize,
When you place these words on paper,
They will come alive.
A poem is a thought, a worry,
Sometimes happy, sad, or lost,
But those words make you a poet,
No matter what the cost.
Put your words on paper,
Sign it with your name,
For these words are from you,
You have nothing to lose only gain.
Your imagination is wonderful,
It can take you anywhere, anytime,
It can make you who you choose to be,
Any place or person of any kind.
You can be a prince upon a throne,
Or a lonely old lady, living all alone,
You can be from riches or from poor,
Anything at all, behind that closed door.
If you could just run wild,
Let your imagination run free,
There’s so much talent hidden,
From a poet, you will see.

Rose,
Wonderful reminder of how writing can set you free, and let you be whoever and whatever you chose while you live inside the paper. Thank you for writing this. You'll never know how much it means to me just now.

Very nicely expressed Cuz, as I have often said the only thing the separates poets and non poets is an imagination and the ability and bravery to use it....keep on keeping on.
