And there you are.
What was and could have been
Abesent gone in the wind.
Only fate and fantasy and hope knew.
But here you are.
Deserter to love.
Traitor to a myth.
Someone my mother loved and knew.
You are a part of a moment
that should not have happened.
I'm a symbol of what was
and maybe could have been.
You stand before me
And I before you.
The result of at least a moment of love.
I stand before a myth.
A deserter, absentee traitor to love.
I learned to look beyond the myth.
All around me there is faith, hope, loyalty, trust and more.
Things you did not have the time to share.
These things don't surround me because of you.
They come from a higher power that cares about me
and, who also cares for you.
Deserter, absentee traitor to love.
Something gave you the power to stray.
And yet here you are today.
I feel nothing about you being here.
An observation about someone
I thought I knew yet I knew that I never could.
