Beauty

This is a poem in the same vein as my others, about the joy of discovering new life.

When you smile it lights the day and outshines the sun;

The joy it brings to see that smile,

Is like a Christmas morning, and makes me young;

Your face like a Rose inviting;

But watch! Are there thorns?

But No! just eyes alighting

With friendship and joy,

My heart warming,

Then the child in me sees your smile, your eyes and your face

My heart jumps! My body cannot keep pace!

With the feelings deep inside me;

When I sneak a look, at your face, your body, your stature;

Your face so friendly and sensual all at once

I am a boy, I am a man I am unsure;

What are you doing to me my beauty?

You give me something that I had not known,

A heart and a soul of my own.

How do you do this my beauty?

My soul was broken my heart a stone.

It is your gentleness, the sound of your laughter;

Your gentle way.

Where does this go, neither knows

But for tonight it goes with a heart refreshed joyful, grateful

For what God gave to my soul.

True love and friendship are treasures that I often find very hard to describe in mere words. Thank you, Scott. Love and peace to you,

Regis
