Bandit Religion: Animism of the Indian

they told her
leaves fall in the
fall, not the way of
a broken heart, but
renew your spirit gold,
emerge from a forbidding
barrier of religious thorns,
pussy the most sublime gorge
to all of Beethoven's nine symphonies,
in trees, stone and Light,

gold miner's
rainbow after
the storm, mountain
lion's deep claw marks
in bandit religion, spears,
picks and axes of a thousand
warriors, broken-winged birds,
it stuns the eye where our bareness
lies exposed, fucking demands perception
in stages,

Pisgah is
seduced by
ever-changing
hues, depends on
the light, season and
time of day, nights and moon,
the Gibson girl look-alikes and
the Indian girl on ponies,

"Our ride across time" -  animism of the
Indian we have come to understand,

they told her
leaves fall in the
fall, not the way of
a broken heart, but
renew your spirit gold,
emerge from a forbidding
barrier of religious thorns.

Pisgah was deceived, the promised land was already in foreclosure and Moses held the note. Leaves, I understand. Patrick

Sage, an appeal to the senses and conscious thought process. "renew your spirit gold", speaks to all peoples and all religious beliefs. It is a universal call to self assessment and a need for reckoning. You have such a gift with perspective. The thorns that tear at the soul are grown from the impurities that dwell in the human heart, not our religions. A masterful work of poetic art. A rendering that demands understanding and acceptance of all people. Thanks for the delightful read my friend. May love and joy be the way of this day for you. Jon Michael

Powerful poetry Ms Sage. I love how you began and ended with the same verse, that is the power in this pen.
