In Memory of my Uncle Bob

The eighty year old farmer

Sat under the tree

Watching the cows

And remembering another

Day, another time,

 memories flooding

his soul.

He knew that his days

Were numbered, the end coming closer

As the malignancy took over

His body.

Neighbors saw him sitting under

The old tree and stopped

To say hi and see if he needed

The sweet old gentleman,

Tears staining his cheeks

Said no,

I was just sitting here thinking

About how much I have loved

My life and how much I will miss it.

What a rare answer

Full of love and acceptance

in this day

When most of us wish we could

Live our lives over….

Now he is gone and has

Set a high bar with

His wonderful life…

You were loved and we will miss you, too.

Your Uncle Bob was a wise man and now it seems you have picked up the torch to carry it forward to share with another. His memory will continue forward...

Be always safe,
