                                  The Last Popcicle of Summer

                                             by Brenda Joy Dobson

I tear off its wrapper,

Let the icy citrus bar take away my thirst

A little tart, yet, oh so sweet,

on my tongue.

Been waitin' in the back of the frig

to be devoured since June.

Not stale either,

Reminds me that life is still good

Even after the popcicle's gone,

Wrapper tossed away.

The crispness of autumn's afternoon,

Reminds me winter's comin'...

Oh, how I love, Love, LOVE hot Chocolate!!

BRYNN...YOU'RE NUDGING MY SWEET TOOTH, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HIT ON THE CHOCOLATE THING, 'CAUSE I LOVE CHOCOLATE PERIOD! NOW YOU GOT ME THINKING ABOUT THOSE DELICIOUS BARS AND BITES OF CHOCOLATE CANDY THAT I PROMISED MYSELF I WAS NOT GOING TO 'GET INTO' UNTIL THE HOLIDAYS...LET'S SEE NOW...JUST ONE MORE MONTH, AFTER NEXT MONTH AND I AM HOPING THAT BY THE TIME IT ROLLS AROUND FOR ME TO HAVE THE LAST PIECE OF CHOCOLATE AFTER THE HOLIDAYS, I'LL BE ABLE TO DO IT. THANKS FOR SHARING THIS SHARP, VIVIDLY CLEAR, TOUCHABLE WORK. LOVE, BLESSINGS & FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
