Unwritten

He asked me to write him a love poem,
how do I scribble the words,
to tell him that he is my poem,
editing, there is no need,
he sings of cherry blossoms,
chants tales of  the sea,
a reflection frosted, in laughter’s tear,
yes, my treasured poem,
tis love that shall remain,
the foundation, beneath my feet,
that gives me strength, day by night,
so take this now….run with it,
it is yours for keeps,
never to be written in sand nor stone

Again, having just read Fee's darling response, you have nut-shelled the essence of the preceeding lines in the final three: I love the images of love that you have chosen to represent your "poem" but the truth is that he is a poem of words that are forever grafted onto the skin of a heart that is free to run and to be kept safely within - and for always! A Sonnet Of Shakespearean Love if ever there was one, Christine! Truly beautiful, xx

I really love these shorty poems which deliver maximum effect with the minimum amount of wording. There's a real art to that, a balancing act. And you just nailed it perfectly.
