Autumn's Window

She's blending the colours now...soon she will lay her hand upon the hillside and it will burst into glory!

A glimpse through autumn’s window,
Ah the splendour there!
Nature’s gallery – a masterpiece,
Picassos everywhere!
Breathtakingly blended colours,
Only nature could contrive,
Purely genius brush strokes,
Hills and vales alive!
Flaming orange, wanton red,
Stark contrasts of gold,
Autumn’s plumage – rich and rare,
A miracle to behold!

This is a wonderful description of the 'season of mists and mellow fruitfulness'...Autumn is a miracle of a season...and I'm still trying to get my hair the colour of a beautiful fresh conker!
Hugs, Diana...

Autumn... Autumn is the only thing I miss about living in the mid-west. Though we have Autumn in Southern California, nowhere is there the vibrant colors nor the crisp air as found to the north and east.
Nice poem, Anna.

We don't get the artful display of colors down here, just a sprinkling here and there, but, and however, and heck, just the fact that cooler temperatures are here make up happy. Excellent and very creative poem, Anna.
