“October is the fallen leaf, but it is also a wider horizon more clearly seen. It is the distant hills once more in sight, and the enduring constellations above them once again.”
Hal Borland

The sun shines brightly but the air chills and propels leaves from the trees
The storm door slams in the airstreams that is now more than a breeze
One can watch the clouds as they are wafted about in the stratosphere
Wilting leaves are blown free from the trees to fall wherever the air may steer
Above it all is the beautiful ambiance, a sky deep and blue
Each tree stands below and dropping leaves as the wind blows through
The trees take turns dancing as it slowly sheds its garb and changes it hue
The sunshine feels warm upon my back but the air is cool and insistent
As I again find myself watching the clouds, stirred by the air across the firmament
October is here, another summer has come to its end
I watch nature preparing herself for next season God will send

Rebirth of the Dogwood
