is it real?

I felt your fingers as they
lightly traced my face
My eyes closed for fear
that you would disappear

I heard your heart,
beating with mine
and your breath
against my cheek

My mind tells me that
you are here
but do I trust this?
Do I open my eyes?
Can this love be real?

Your hands, explore
searching for the
places that only
you will know
Is this real
I implore

My mind and body are taken
to height of joy
that unto until now
have been unknown

I moan the song
that only lovers sing
anticipating the joy
each touch will bring
hoping beyond hope
that this is real
that I will ecstasy is
one I will forever feel

Do I dare to open my eyes?
Do I dare to see
if you are really here?

For to live with out you
would be to not live at all
To live in e vacuum devoid
of life, of love
is something I can not bare

So, I stay in my dream
eyes shut tight
waiting for my dream lover
in the still of the night
not knowing if
it is wrong or right
my hidden pleasure
shared with you in
the darkness of the night

I love this, and can well relate! This touches me deeply, and the pain, the phantom that is there and not there, the pain.
Blessings,
Christine

The total darkness can be sensuous and exciting. To make love to the one who comes to you when you are alone and lonely can be self-satisfying. Reality and faux-reality can merge into each other. I liked this poem. It is subtlety charming.
