... colors just seem to pop in
Autumn. The humidity has
been scraped out of the air,
so nothing gets in the way ---
they just explode with hues
so bright it shocks the eyes
with pleasure. Take this
sunflower --- golden against
cobalt skies. It nearly drove
me to my knees to envision
such beauty. Such a simple
thing but one I needed ---
especially today. Daddy
would have been 80 years
old. Instead of me giving him
a present, he gave me one
wrapped with the brightest
wrappings he could find.
