Do Not Silence Me

Stand for something, or you will stand for nothing.

I spoke my mind
You disagreed
and for this
you try to silence me?

I do not think
the same as you
I make my own decisions
I make up my own mind
Not once did I try to
silence you
not one did I shout you down
and while I think that you are wrong
I never put you down

LISTEN
AMERICA IS STILL FREE
at least the last time I looked
I did not think that I would ever see
an America that was not what it used to be
But, alas, it seems we have seen the change
Not for the better, but one that scares me
For all of those who died
so that we could speak our minds
To all of the fatherless children
that were left behind
I promise I WILL CONTINUE
TO SPEAK MY MIND
in a land that I live
a land that I love
All I ask, is that when
someone tries to silence you
REMEMBER THEY FOUGHT
for the RED , WHITE and BLUE

Bravo! wonderful message dorothy...how do we learn...from where comes our perspective our understanding w/out listening...expressing our views w/out judgement...like you i don't intend to be silent on this issue that i'm passionate about...our dwindling freedom. i think maybe the ones trying to silence those with a voice are the ones w/out ears
