The Sundance Wives Stores: The Spirit of Tom Mix

Tom Mix walked
in, the brass cowbell
announced a loud welcome,
1880-1940 Hollywood cowboy
said "I want one of everything and
four of the whiskey kegs, no gift wrap,
I'll rap with Eminem, I want that brass
cowbell above the door, I'm taking it to
John Wayne to call Kathryn Hepburn in
for dinner,"

Sundance Wives blonde
got her wooden step stool,
pulled down the rope looped
over a black square wrought iron
nail, released the cowbell to Mix,
"I hated when Wayne told Hepburn,
'Let your women be silent in church'" -
Sundance Wives red circled Mix with a
tape measure, held out a custom vintage
embroidered cowboy shirt, "you're my star,
red garters on your sleeve, Barbara Stanwyk,
when you see her, give her these, one for each
leg, I loved her in Annie Oakley, she could shoot
'em out to the cosmo,"

money wouldn't
fit in the till, Pink Floyd
is a drink in the casino,
The Sundance Wives Stores
on the lookout for a Tom Mix

Tom Mix - January 6, 1880 – October 12, 1940

Money. It's a kick, and a Pink Floyd has got to be making the pink squirrels obsolete. Patrick

Sage, as a poet, spinner of yarns and resource for western lore, you're among the very best. You never fail to capture my imagination and hold me spellbound from opening word to the last letter. The old west and the new west are alive in the words and emotions you pen my dear friend. I hear the jingle of every spur and the rattle of every roulette wheel ball until drops in the local saloon. Spin me all of the western tales you can. I love 'em. Love and peace to you. Jon Michael

When I was a skinny kid my favorite Saturday afternoon heroes
were Tom Mix and Buck Jones. The thing I liked most about my Dad's waterfront store was the big barrel of blackjack molasses. If I'm
ever out your way, Sage, I'll be sure to stop by your store and indulge myself in all your goodies. Love, gene.

Interesting piece. There is a small "Tom Mix" museum in Oklahoma right before the Texas border. It may be small, but it sure is fascinating...

Well since I am a gent I will not go there, Sage. Although I would not mind to tag along with you and Vickie. BTW, I know you cannot be that old but Tom Mix goes as far back as to when I was a boy.
