When I wrote this I heard the words like a song, many of the repetitions go with the music I had in mind for it.

Whaddaya know. Whaddaya know.
We've got a bright starry future ahead.
Don't you know? Don't you know?
That's what the preacher man said.
We've got to get on up and get moving.
Straight ahead, straight ahead.
That's what the preacherman said.

And what happens if we don't?
What happens if we don't?
The preacherman says we're going to hell
if we can't, if we can't.
No matter if we're kind
we still will, we still will.

I say get on up!
Get your ass in gear.
Get on up, get moving out of here.
You don't need to listen to empty threats.
That's what I say.
That's what I say.
I guess that means I'm going to hell
either way.

But have you heard? Have you heard?
Some preachermen say we're ok,
we don't need to follow no Golden Way.
As long as we're kind, as long as we're kind.
We still will have our peace of mind,
our peace of mind.

What is hell other than constricted minds
tortured until the end of time.
And I say straight and narrow,
that's just uptight and shallow.
Some preachermen say love is the greatest.
They say don't waste your time being haters.

So whaddaya know,
whaddaya know.
Love's the greatest,
that's right I said
Love's the greatest!

Peace out man!
