Word are only symbols

Slap me hard with words so that I may understand what is real?

Agitate me with adjectives until my perceptions become surreal.

Lay me down in a bed of nouns,
words can drown what is truly profound.

Men invented letters constructing words as they were assembled,

only to become a facsimile of what we feel,

they are only just symbols.

I know of something that speaks the truth of life,
this dialog is the language of the zodiac’s sky,
the moving gestures of the clouds reflect their stories in my eyes.

Waves are the beckoning arms of the sea,

crying out in their reaching,

rumbling in their tumbling,

mumbling their thundering to me.

These movements of life are found deep inside of thee.
Words can never describe your feelings,
just to visit them and embrace them,
is the closest we will ever get to reality.
