Loveless childhood

She doesn’t know how to cuddle
She doesn’t know how to share
Her mind is in a muddle
She’s not even aware

She sometimes thinks her hearts a stone
Her treatment as a child
Has left her heart dead and alone
So long since it has smiled

Not for her, love and kisses
Not for her encouragement
Love was one of many abysses
Like a flower without a scent

Spare the rod and spoil the child
Was her father’s parental art
Make up and nails all filed
He thought she was a tart

Father why did you do this
Father didn’t you care
Father tell me this emotional abyss
Tell me its not there

Father say just once you love me
Say just once you regret
Not trying to make me happy
I’m your daughter who you cosset
