Even a sinner like me longs for a closer walk with thee
I want to hold the hand of the king
I want to stand besides the angels so that I may sing this song that is in my heart
The one god had chosen for me right from the start
I want my wrongs to be made right, all of my dark days to turn into light
See, even a sinner like me just want to walk close with thee
I’ve given up paying 20 dollars just to get in tha club
All those fancy clothes and the cars sittin on dubs
See life’s so different cause I’ve quit smoking dem trees
Hey I’ve even notice that you have quite a few new enemies
And those men that said I was beautiful just to get close to me
Suddenly turn their heads when I tell them I walk next to thee
It is no longer hard for me to be face down or get on my knees
I’ll do it daily for just a closer walk with thee
