My Life I (The Beginning)

When I first joined The Den, I would put 3 or four poems on one page. This was the first of a series which are now being separated so that each will have their own home.

MY LIFE  I (THE BEGINNING)

When I came into this life,
it was different from where I came.
I started out with nothing,
didn't even have a name.

After nine months of darkness
in a tiney 98 degree room,
suddenly it's 68 and very bright,
as I come out of the womb.

I've nothing but the air I breathe
and not a stitch of clothing.
They spank me on the butt
and that really starts me loathing.

It seems very cold
and I've not a thing to wear.
Everyone's so big
and they all have so much hair.

First this giant grabs me
and holds me by my heels.
She slaps me on the butt again,
do they know how bad that feels?

Then she hits me again,
harder by a mile.
I wonder why she did it,
did she think it would make me smile?

There are more giants all around me
and they all seem so excited.
I wonder where they came from
and were they all invited?

At first it's very scary
and they wonder why I cry.
What is this new place?
Am I about to die?

They lay me on this big ol sweaty lady
and she draws me to her breast.
Later she'll stick a nipple in my mouth,
was this some kind of test?

She had two of those things,
got so I could find them on my own.
And ya know, I grew to like em,
at that point, the best I'd ever known.

She looks like she's been through hell,
but still, she wears a smile.
I may learn to like this place,
but it just might take a while.

They call the sweaty lady Mommy.
And, Mommy seems really tired.
She thinks she's been through a lot,
but me, I'm really wired.

After the beating I just took
I just can't fall asleep,
but they give me this warm fuzzy thing,
do ya think it's mine to keep?

Everything is new
and I have so much to learn.
Everyone wants to hold me,
then they give this old guy a turn.

They're calling him my dad.
That must be his name.
He looks a lot like me,
could our names both be the same?

Later, after Mommy falls asleep
they take me to another room.
It's filled with people more my size.
Am I part of the baby boom?

After a few more day's
I awaken from a nap.
Everything is moving
and I'm in my mommy's lap.

I'm searching for that nipple
and don't give me any crap.
You know I really want it
and I'm still to young to slap.

They're taking me somewhere
in something they called a car.
It's taking a long time,
it must be really far.

Finally when we get there,
(I think they called it home.)
It seems much more warm and cozy,
but I find we're not alone.

There are several smaller giants,
one they call my sister.
As she stands next to Mommy,
she's so small I almost missed her.

Soon, I'll spend more time with her
and she'll turn on the charm.
But, when it comes to nipples
I still prefer my mommy's arms.

There are other's they call brothers
and they all look a lot like Dad.
They must be the brothers
I never knew I had.

They all seem real friendly,
I'm beginning to like this place,
but, you should see them run
when "up chuck" runs down my face.

And when I messed my diaper,
you should have seen them scatter.
They all had me wondering
just what the heck's the matter?

TO BE CONTINUED.......
