Autumn is breathtaking at times...

A Welcoming of Autumn

I bask in the present moment
Filled with gratitude
At the fresh fall of leaves
That marks the birth
Of my favourite season
I chastise any harmful feelings
And scanty sentiments
For they seem almost sacrilegious
Before the edenic beauty
Of the reality before me
As I read between the lines
Of time passing

Time does pass on with the changing of the seasons, I love the yellow leaves, and Fall can be a renewing time also in some ways.

Autmn has got to be one of my favorite seasons, besides summer. I love the colors and the leaves falling. The only sad thing about the season, when it's over, here comes the snow,,not so crazy about that, but what do you do? Oh yea, shovel, lol

My first visit to your site; I am awed by your ability to say so much in so few words! Love your syle in glorifying the beauty of the fall season, my favorite. A beautifully penned poem. Joy Hale

Regis, this is filled with introspection and recognition of the seasons of life and nature. A prayer to the unfolding beauty of life's cycles and the need to cherish and appreciate them everyone. Shallow thought regarding seasonal change and the pure mystery of it all rob us of the most remarkable experiences in life. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael

This poem is very emotional and touching. I actually feel the connection between the poet (you) and the poem. I love the opening line of the poem. It makes me smile, makes me feel good, makes me want to keep on reading. I love your choice of words. You've done a wonderful job on this poem. It flows well and certainly leaves a lasting impression. I think it's one of your better ones. :)

... reading between the lines, you have emptied the beautiful canvas you set before us of the vestiges of self and have filled it instead with the epitome of awe-struck worship (or rather, worth-ship!) - in the sense that such wonder is indeed worthy of all our praise and utter delight. New birth is a marvel, both outside and within. Love the sense of both sanctity and sacredness in this mood. xx
