I keep a tiny shimmering rainbow
In my secret withdrawn hand
Unfolding like an ancient book,
The entrance to a hidden land.
A place of peace where the fields are yellow
Where many adventurous travelers roam,
Singing of freedom, and dreams from the past
A place that I call home.
Whilst I lay among the roses
Faeries sing upon the breeze
I close my eyes and drift away
Asleep beneath the apple trees
My tears will suddenly fade away,
When the rainbow begins to faintly glow
I open my hands and see the truth
There is no world in which to go
The colors melt within my hands
My dreams lay shattered on the ground,
I silently pick up shards of glass
And cry for hope I once had I found
