Preying On All Hallows Eve!

A spoooooky little lyrical treat for children who dare to go out on All Hallows Eve! giggle....

Beware of darkened corners
Where evil awaits its prey!
For those who wander carelessly,
Are sure to rue the day!
Witches, hearts as black as coal,
Ghouls and goblins too,
Roam the streets All Hallows Eve
Just like children do!
But treats are not their pleasure,
No candy or chips for them,
Although they have been known to swipe
A loot bag now and then!
Children are what they’re looking for,
All ages, sizes and shapes,
And if you think they won’t choose you,
You’re making a big mistake!
Just remember there’s strength in numbers,
So on Halloween this year,
Don’t become a victim of prey,
And keep your best friends near!

Aah, good advice! Nothing beats Halloween when you're a kid. Christmas is exciting, but Halloween requires participation, and I think that's more exciting. A nice rhymed poem:)

A great story but with a valuable lesson as well. I love Hallloween and the trick of treaters but remind our kids and grandkids of all the safety rules of the night as well...eg..never eat anything until you get home and parents check, always travel with either adult or a group of friends and stay together, watch out for traffic and things that are real danger spots, never enter a house or dwelling, and run if a stranger looks or acts suspicious...

Great poem, Annabel, that I am forwarding to my grandaughter in Colorado to read. When out at night it's always a good idea to remember that there is strength in numbers.
