The skies are gray today
The winds are swirling overhead
Leaves blown free from the trees
Land on the ground to form a bed
The colors range from red to brown
They create a colorful canopy on the ground
The clouds hang low across the skies of gray
The sunshine is impeded on the cool October day
Yet the trees seem to dance merrily in the breeze
And squirrels scurry happily among the trees
The circling clouds shift about as if promising rain
If one takes to time to listen he can hear the winds refrain
I can sit for hours and admire the autumn weather
The climate change, the colored show which exists together
The brisk, teasing airstream caressing my cheek and hair
The evidence of transformation happening everywhere
It’s October
