In millions of factory farms I hear their cries, even as I pass the meat counter in the supermarket, when will we stop raping the earth of all our other ken, when? when will we stop wringing our hands, and instead wring our souls, and show some compassion toward our other earthly ken?

Calloused minds, and souls,
Thinking too much,
Praying too much,
Hands are soft and white,
Washed in Pilates bowls,

Blood on the altar of meat,
Blessings too much,
Preying too much,
Hands of Cain, calloused,
All for a tasty treat,

Blessed shawls for eyes and ears,
Hands across their mouth,
Hands thrown in the air,
Deaf to hear their kens despair,
Cry to God of death their fears,

Hallowed casks of craving deed,
Shallow remnant prayer cloths,
Shallow dreadful deeds lay buried,
Among he lays neath bloodied earth,
How dare he now, forgiveness’ seek?

Justice served at last he’s blessed,
Now bone to bone and dust to dust,
His calloused soul and mind will rust,
Neath mother earth and buried ken,
Forever will he rest.©26/10/2010

You have a huge heart and sweet soul Jasmin but the world has a larger carnivorous appetite. At least in your own life you know you have made a difference. Patrick

Jasmin, your message rings with the purity of heartfelt compassion my dear friend. You stand as a mighty and noble guardian committed to speak for those that cannot speak for themselves. Love and peace to you. Jon Michael

Your heart and soul are in everything you write, Jasmin. So appropriate and timely you should post this a day after a hunter shot dead the largest living animal in England, The Emperor Stag..."I did it for fun and for the antlers" he said...and he has a licence so all's well with the legal world.

In solidarity

John
