I love this time of year. But, then...
I love every time of year.

It is toward the end of October and leaves have been freed from the trees
They trek across the ground and fly through the air as directed by the breeze
The sun rises later in the morning, sets sooner to bring nightfall
Its brilliance enhances the panorama of beauty that adds to the luster of every autumn season we may recall
The wind seems to finger paint across both the morning sky as well as at twilight
The collage it creates is a random collection of colors that radiate with the coming of the night
As the sunsets further in the west the streaks and bands slowly disappear
But not before they give one last expression of the beauty of this time of year
Then the sky turns dark with only the moon to aluminate the night
If one knows where to come and watch he may observe the hordes of bats that then take flight
It is then that stories have taken flight about ghosts and goblins and things that go bump in the night
And little creatures in their Halloween garb creep around to knock upon your door
Prepare yourself to celebrate with them and watch for more trick or treaters that are in store
