I have probably 20 "Favorite" singers, but Bob Seger is near the top of the list. Even when it's not coming in real clear.... But there are worthwhile diversions.

“I’d rather listen to bad Seger.”
That’s what I told my sweetie.
As we traveled down the “Baseline”
listening to old tunes,
she reached over
and changed the station.
I gave her a look,,,
saw confusion on her face…
“I was enjoying that,” said I.
“As was I,” said she,
“until we drove out of range.
I don’t enjoy static.”
To which I replied,
“I’d rather listen to bad Seger
than almost anything else.”
“I’ll find something better,” said she.
as she continued to hit the presets.
“There is nothing better,” said I
“Have I ever led you astray?” said she.
My smile betrayed my thoughts.
as she read my mind.
many times,,,,
but not in the last few hours,,,,
“I’ll find a place to pull over.”
burst from the speakers.
It’s the opening line to
a rather obscure song by
Mark Wills, called LOVE IS ALIVE.
Couldn’t have been more appropriate.
So, I obliged her.
