Does love last through all things

How long does love last

Does winter mean the end of love

Our very hearts fading with the end of dawn

Will love go on endlessly

What we thought to last

Really last and forever go on

Will love end with the coldness

 of the falls swift wind

Can there be a new beginning

Wrap ourselves in the warmth of our love

Our feelings held deep within

Is the passing of time ours to determine

Are we at Mother Natures

and Father Times mercy

Is there significance in predestination,

or is it our style

Do we love the way we chose, or the way we say

Is it for a lifetime or just for today

You have made a hole in my heart

And it hurts when the wind blows through it

Can it be mended in time with compassion

Or lost forever in my tattered soul

Can I ever really let the memory of our love go

You ask some interesting questions. Does love last through anything? Personnally, I think only if friendship is involved. Well written poem and thought provoking. (I'll admit I had a little difficulty reading this because it was so light), but I think I got the gist.

Excellent expression of those sentiments of love's own Winter. Most of us know that love reaches a morphing every so often within the phases of our lives. It is usually strengthened in time even though it changes in its form somewhat. If it never reaches a few milestones in distance than it was never really true love.

Love lasts forever but sometimes, it means that the hurt lasts as well. I do not think that it is true that "time heals all wounds;" certainly not when it comes to love. I can completely relate to what you have expressed in your verses here, Kathleen. Thank you. Love and best wishes to you,

Love at first sight is fantasy but it does lay the ground work for something we call love. For some it does last a lifetime and for others who thought they found love it becomes very painful when it crashes. When communication is gone so is love so beware.
