Farewell

My husband died horribly of Cancer on our 34th wedding anniversary. This is for Jerry

Softly disappeared.

I hold him in my broken heart
There is no other place,
He took my life along with his
And now a shell I face.

Each time I see my image in a
Mirror or a glass,
I see an empty vessel, cracked and
Broken by the past.

Pointless days and lonely nights, now makes up my world,
Where no one says I love you,
And “are you still my girl?”

I dusted off the keyboard then,
To say it once again.
The pain of living now out weighs the effort
To begin….

A life without the someone that
Filled my days and nights.
It’s just too hard to take a breath
It’s just too hard to fight.

Sylvia, this is so touching and beautiful I was awestruck with the honesty and pain in your words. I looked at your bio and it once again touched me deeply. "It's just me" are succinct words of the soul.
I hope you are well.
love,
Christine

Sylvia,
I don't know you but I am sorry for your loss; may Jerry rest in peace
and may you find the strength and will to go on.
