The Woman In the Mirrow,

Today I met a woman, her eyes were swelled and red. Her hair was so disheveled,
And her spirit hung its head.

She stood there looking back at me and never said a word.
There were no letters known to man
That would express her hurt.

I realized it was me I saw and then I
Felt the pain,
that death had once again took out another human being.

As he lay dying slow that night
I held him in my arms,
And stroked his brow and held his hand
And then I closed his eyes.

I wanted to go with him, I begged
Him for the chance.
“Don’t leave me here alone my love.
To know that you have passed.

Our house will be so empty, our bed
Will be so cold.
There wasn’t time to do the things
We’d planned when we got old.

Don’t leave me….PLEASE don’t leave me
But no…..you have to go,
Just wait inside a little ways and
Promise you’ll walk slow.

Tell Jesus that I’m coming, and to go
Prepare a place,
A little house along a creek that’s
Good for catching fish.
Tell Him I’ll want some flowers to tend and
Baby angels too.
With trees above and grass below to
Lie and watch the moon.

You’ll hold me close again my love, and
I will watch the stars as
they dance across a summer sky
Like lightening bugs in jars.

I’m coming soon my husband dear, and so you
Wait for me.
You are not gone, just stepped away
And soon there all will be.

Tell Jesus that I love Him and I’ll get
Over being mad.
I don’t believe I ever will get over
Being sad.

I love you with all my heart.
Sylvia
