A few thoughts before and after the 2010 midterm elections...

Caught In a Thought Storm

© Jaimey Perham 10/30/2010

Free flowing ideas of color curving through the November air

What once was dead, now alive with vivid rainbows and flair?

Heavy flowers rain down on us from deep in the upper atmosphere

Family & friends together again sharing their civic duty somewhere

Caught in a political thought storm, no room for abysmal despair

Riding the subway in the city of many dreams headed nowhere

Siting in yellow cab parked on corner of hope with just enough fare

Hiking in the forest & high top mountains, a glimpse of mama bears

Talking to strangers asking for change on street without any fear

Caught in a political thought storm, no room for abysmal despair

The end of a long complicated congress battle destination next year

Headed home wounded from overseas war with gun & God’s prayer

A man votes his heart at the polls out in the county, but very near

An election in the best place in the world with pure exceptional care

Caught in a political thought storm, no room for abysmal despair
