Humbly Said, Privileged

Allow me to take you back to the year, 1938
In May thee were 38 high school seniors
ready to graduate and move on in life
Each was a child of the Great Depression
and about 30 of us were poor without hope of
college in our future so we went to work and
a few married early and added children
I chose middle path by enrolling in evening
college available in Atlanta as an extension of
The University of Georgia in the city of Athens
During WWII college work included classes at
the University of Hawaii earning three credits

While in high school I mastered the typewriter
allowing me to learn and teach the Morse code
so later the computer was a valuable 'given'
All of it made majoring in journalism pay off when
I launched a career managing chambers of
commerce in several southern cities for 24 years
It was an era of cities attracting new industry so '
when I left the work I returned to Atlanta and
entered industrial real estate allowing me to
open a new firm until retiring in 1999 and move to
Dahlonega and the Northeast Georgia mountains

My bride of 57 years began another life in a house
first rented by former neighbor friend for decades
It was our home me for the next six ears prior to
expected death although her Atlanta doctors had
given her a maximum three years of life there
Se passed away on August 4th of 2005 ending a
63-year marriage which began on May 2nd 1942
Five years later my privileged life continues in a
solid respectful friendshiiip with a lovely lady of 83
