Sweet girl..
When did I loose you?
You're over my head
and not one word I've said
got through to you.

Worlds colliding
crashing wild and free
another me
in you I see.

And I'm afraid
and awestruck
by your pride.

Such bullish behaviour
I've NEVER seen the like
It's like you're iron clad
cast from top to toe
in iron strength spikes.

Woe me
the mother, the friend, the foe.
Cajoling, pleeding,
on her tippy toes.

I've lost my strategies
and find myself dumbstruck.
I can't help to feel proud,
as much as out of luck.

I know that whatever life may throw at you
my dear sweet girl...
Your are well and able,
equipped and capable,
ready to handle.

Locked and loaded,
armed to the teeth,
you have a WORLD of strength
my sweet.

Your thoughts give one the inside view of a mothers relationship with her daugther, and the acceptance of where she is and how she will tackle the world...

Parental awakening is a frightful and exciting event all at the same time Elisabeth. I believe we are more than a bit intimidated by how much they have learned and how rapidly their personalities matured. Their rush to be adults almost overwhelms us. You describe the emotions of most of today's parents with great accuracy in your poem. Entertaining and revealing my dear friend. I wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving. I bid you love and peace. Jon Michael
