Farewell

You came into my journey
as I traveled down life's path.
You smiled and told endearing tales.
You danced and made me laugh.

Yet the road of life, as walked,
sometimes brings one tears,
at crossroads there are struggles,
at some turns there is fear.

You are not one to brave the storms,
nor one to face the wind.
Before the first harsh gusts had waned,
you were gone again.

A bell was rung, a last song sung,
the bluebird bowed his head.
Night-clouds gathered over the sun,
Love-sweet love-is dead.
