Loveless Lies

This is about my first marriage, which
became 'loveless lies'.

We met in high school
Senior year
Went together
For five years

You went to college
Three hundred
Miles away
I stayed

My college
Was Seven
Miles away
I missed you

You started
Your conquoring
Of other women
While you were away

Not to brag
I could have
Had anyone
I wanted...I did not want

For I am one
Who believes
In being true
I loved you

I thought you
Loved me too
After we were
Married...for four years

You told me
You didn't love me
Like you use to
Did you ever love me at all

I found out
About the women
After our divorce
I had friends...

Who were down
At the same college
They never told me
I finally understood

You did the best
Thing for me
I've been through
Many changes

Realizing
It wasn't meant
To be
I'm not the same

I have forgiven you
Told you so
My soul is more peaceful
After living 'loveless lies'

The affections he gave to others does not mean he
didn't Love You...it means he has no control to refrain
I wish I could help people see this as I see it, Love is huge
human nature is small & fragile & utterly imperfect...

Gee, I remember one very similar to this in another life. Time to move on and forgiveness is the first step. Happy Thanksgiving!

Be always safe,

I find this wonderful reflection disarmingly genuine and heart-felt. Your rendering here awakens my compassion and understanding.
Blessings and Happy Thanksgiving!

Forgiveness often is more beneficial to the one who forgives than the one who is in need of being forgiven...it allows us to move on and learn to love again...
