Where are you, Christmas? I'll tell you:
it's in the sparkle of your eyes, in the
smile on your face, in the warmth of
your embrace ---- welcome home.
I've missed that.
Even though you are no longer here,
your love wraps around my heart:
a present no amount of money
could ever purchase.
The gift that keeps on giving ---- the
best one I have ever received, one
that increases in value as the
years go by.
Did I ever say, Thank you?
Memories: the too big tree. The off-
key singalongs. Winter smells on
your coat after you'd come in from
the chill outdoors.
The easy laughter ho-ho-ho-ing from
your belly. (You were Santa Claus.)
Your eyes twinkling like the lights
when you saw our happiness.
I love coming home.
