Iron City CD Release Party

The band begins to play

Girl and a butterfly tattoo

Flutter by

Holding Jameson in her glass

On her way to the church

And the band begins to pray

Church closed its holy doors

Where is the sound tonight?

Holy fire flows from a Fender Twin

She-drummer keeps time

And that’s all

But it’s solid

Guitarist and Les Paul scream a lead

Toward a girl with a metal leg

As she hikes up her skirt a bit

Barmaid grins as her tip-jar fills

Bass-man plucks a Fender Jazz

Stoic and in the shadow

And solid

Loyal crowd sings along

My mind extends my body

Into holy rapture

Worship in syncopated trance.

Dayvid, I love the feel of this poem, I could almost hear that band playing as I read your verses.
My daughter plays a left handed fender in her band. Awesom guitar.

Much peace, love and light,
