I had a severe case of the “I wants” when a child
If my brother Jim took my toy I would go wild
As I grew older I learned to share a few
If I was tired of it I might share it with you
Even in romance I was not totally selfless
A thing called jealousy created times of stress
In fact even my very love for God and his son
Cannot be considered totally unselfish when all is said and done
Why do I love my Lord and my Maker you may inquire?
It is because of what he does for me and the fear of Hells fire
If any man would have you believe his love is totally unadulterated
That man starts with a lie and his devotion is thus contaminated
So, my friend when you kneel yourself down to pray,
“Father forgive me for I have sinned,” is what you should say
His love is pure and his motivates are virtuous
His intentions are based on fairness, kindness and forgiveness
