Nature V the human condition

I walked till
I fell on my knees
Laying in
The  freshly fallen snow

It was cloudy
A dark cast
Fell across the sky
It could have been my dreams

The trees stood at attention
As though they were soldiers
Waiting for orders
Trying to stay positive

My life at times
Feels a darkness
A shadow hiding
In the background

As if a stranger awaits
Wishing to pull me aside
Telling me things
I have already heard

I hope the New Year
Brings to me
The one thing...I want and need
An improved love life
