Merry Christmas Old Friend (For Georg)

Itís Christmastime once again
but you arenít here to celebrate
Where have you gone Old Friend?
I ask the question but in my heart
I donít like the answer it offers

You who claimed there was no love
within your life or broken heart
and yet, love poured through you
to those who called you ďFriendĒ
You loved in deed and not word only

I miss your wisdom, your strength
that wit and wicked sense of humor
your forthrightness and compassion
I miss you more than words can convey
but I know you know just how much

Is it Christmas there where you are?
Are you sitting fireside with a cigar
a glass of cognac and a good book, or
are you strolling under the magnolias
by the riverside with your beloved belle?

Wherever you are today, Dear Heart,
I hope you are warm, happy and loved
and that you remember those of us
who have been left with an empty chair
at our Christmas celebration this year

Merry Christmas Dear Old Friend
wherever you may be

Belle, a blend of humor and a heartfelt dedication to our beloved friend Georg that he surely understands and is grateful for. Wherever he might be. Wherever he might be! There is no other pen to fill his paper with the love and wit he conveyed with a great whimsical flair. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of Georg. I miss his offerings, reviews and selflessness. Along with the rest of our great AD family, I hope and pray that he is in a comfortable state and that he knows how much he is loved and missed.

Thank you for writing this. Your words weight heavy on my heart.

God bless you. Kathy

HOW VERY TOUCHING...YOUR WORDS PRICK ALL OUR HEARTS, FOR TRULY HE IS MISSED. I AM SADDENED IN ONE RESPECT BECAUSE GEORG IS A POET...AND IF HE COULD WRITE, I KNOW HE WOULD BUT THEN ON THE OTHER HAND...THAT OLD CLICHE', 'NO NEWS-IS GOOD NEWS', GIVES ME GREAT HOPE FOR HIS RETURN. I PRAY HE AT LEAST GETS TO READ THIS 'WARM BLANKET' OF LOVE LABELLE...I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THE SMILE THAT WILL COVER HIS FACE. THUS, UNTIL THE TIME COMES WHEN WE ALL CAN CEASE FROM WONDERING...WE WAIT...PATIENTLY. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH...FOR SHARING THIS 'PRICELESS' GIFT TO GEORG. MERRY CHRISTMAS! LOVE, BLESSINGS & FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Belle, I too miss Georg so much! My father had just passed when I started with the den and Georg was there for me everyday! He helped ease the pain with his positive words and humor. He can't be gone! I am praying that he is resting and healing wounds so he is very strong when he returns. The den is not the same without him. He is very missed by me! This is a beautiful tribute to an amazing man that touched so many with his loving heart!

Belle, You have said what is in all of our hearts, there is such an empitness here on the Den without our Father. I have always felt that he was the glue for all of us. There is a sad empitness in my heart as well. I know that he is in a better place and is looking out after all of us. Your poem is beautiful, and inspirational as well.

Much peace, love and light, and a very Merry Christmas and extraordinary New Year!

Yes a great friend and poet, wherever he might be, may he always walk under an umbrella of Magnolias or Cherry blossoms and stop drinking that cheap Coors beer, before it does him in.
A nice thought you leave of him at Christmas Belle, He'll love it.........
send it by Santa post, by the way, is He still with you, my kids are asking? Hugs! Jasmin Horst
