Reality is just not what it used to be

Awash in beauties realm,
Perfumed flowers, scents,
A mirage; A miracle?
She came from heaven?
An angel then must be?
Into my heart she came,
Not asking my surrender,
Her body warm and tender,

Music filled the room,
We danced, she danced,
A lyre played by slender hands,
A Neigh, a creature stirred,
A golden horn, a silver mane,
From starlight far it came,
Whispers of eternity,
The bliss of love’s eternal sea,

When I woke,
I prayed to sleep,
Forever,
A serpent fangs instead,
A poison ancient,
Jealousy reins not in,
Razor sharp cuts tender flesh,
Where tender thoughts would mesh,

Still the night, the yearning,
Moments tender warm,
I drift away,
My senses fating,
Still the mind, the heart,
Whereto, then not,
Not caring where,
That’s all, I have to share….

From distance far I hear a call,
Sweet voices near my bed,
You’ll be fine they said,
Waves crush over me,
A million stars I see,
A stare, a scare, the sheets,
Stop talking in your sleep, the doc he said,
Take care, or you might lose the rest instead,©23/12/2010

Jasmin, you offer advice every man/woman can prosper from my dear friend. At the edge of coveting that which is another's. My heart tells me you are not of that ilk. Merely conveying to us the perils my dear friend. As is normal for your interesting poetry and unique approach at story telling, this work shines with a sense of noble desire. I bid you love and peace. Jon Michael

Jealousy is truly hard to control but the last line could not be more true. 'Take care or you might lose the rest.'

Jealousy can be an awful thing, Jasmin. I have just been afflicted by it myself, completely out of character and very painful to experience. I see this is under humor, though, so I am not a bit worried about you and wish you happy holidays!
Blessings,
Christine
