NONE BETTER THAN HIM

Comparing Jesus to other things in this life...

You can play me a beautiful melody; a song soft and sweet.
It may be a sound tender as rose petals, under a baby’s feet.
I would listen to it in total stillness as the daylight grows dim.
No earthly sound is sweeter; none can be sweeter than Him.

Compose for me a rhyme, from deep within your inner being.
I will listen; gazing at the fireflies, as the night’s glow is fleeing.
The soft beam of these creatures, light the night when day is dim.
No light shines brighter than Jesus; none brighter that than Him.

He died on a rugged cross with not one fault on His hallowed soul.
His Holy Spirit is the reason my once frigid heart is no longer cold.
His love kept me from the fire when I was filled with sin to the brim.
His blood covers all of my failings; none can ever be better than him.

He rose from that old cross just as He promised the disciples He would.
He suffered that cross for our sake; Had He wished to stop it He could.
Even though His enemies murdered Him, He asked God to forgive them.
Now that is what I called unconditional love; no one loves better than Him.

His love is much sweeter than the unrefined honey of a horde of honeybees.
His majesty is more brilliant than ten million suns and moons could ever be.
His compassionate love touched His enemies; He asked God to forgive them.
His love redeemed mankind; this proves that there are none better than him.

He is incomparable, and this poem beautifully gives Him that honor.
