I received a gift from my father; who taught me how to drive a car
I received a gift from my mother who dressed my wounds and left no scar
I received a gift from my wife who gave to me her heart
The gift I received from my children was the love they did impart
Yes, I have received material gifts such as a new cellphone or TV
But these gifts are temporary gifts and do not mean as much to me
The gift I received from God was a life itself to live
And when I fail he understands and is always ready to forgive
This is the most valuable gift that anyone could give
We all can share in this wonderful gift which is an offering from on high
He loved us all so much he gave his son who came to witness and to die
A gift that echoes through my heart was one he cried out from the cross
“Father, forgive them?” he cried out. “Guide them for they are lost”
When we accept Jesus into our hearts he carries away our sins
So join us in our fellowship and let the Holy Spirit in
Some gifts you cannot put a price on for they are indeed priceless
For without the Lord Jesus our souls are weak and powerless
I received a gift from my father; who taught me how to drive a car
I received a gift from my mother who dressed my wounds and left no scar
These gifts were indeed from them but also gifts from my Lord and savior
Who teaches me and walks with me and forgives my bad misbehavior
