Rebellion against your handicaps gets you nowhere. Self-pity gets you nowhere. One must have the adventurous daring to accept oneself as a bundle of possibilities and undertake the most interesting game in the world-making the most of one's best. Author Harry Emerson Fosdick

Oh woe is me… or maybe not
I suffered a heart attack which made feel I had nothing left to give
On the other hand I survived. Oh thank you Lord for letting me live
I have had a bad ankle for years and it affects my stride
On the other hand when I go out I simply get in my car and ride
I have allergies to deal with and always have a runny nose
On the other hand I can blow my nose. How much of burden does that impose?
I have skin rashes and aching joints and my hearing is going to pot
On the other hand I take Benadryl and can turn the TV sound up a lot
I am old and my joints are painful and I forget everything
On the other hand I remember the words and sing along when Elvis sings.
Life’s not so bad in fact it’s downright great and I’m still in love with my life
Dear God I thank you for it was you who gave me life
