oh, dear..what ever shall i do?
i think i have a cold or the flu!!

sore throat, watery eyes, runny nose..
coughin' my brains out, i suppose!

feel like hell, but have to TRY to work;
even though i feel like such a jerk!!

i will try to do my job, but should be in bed..
a pillow is what i need for my stuffed-up head!!

i don't call in; it is very rare when i do;
i work my hours, even when i feel abused!

abused is how my body feels..sore muscles, joints:
it is nature's way of givin' me the "disappoints"!!

but i have a job to do; so i will go in anyway..
sick though i am, i will TRY to do my job today!!

Nice write. But I'll be in the minority and chastise you for going to work. Keep your germs to yourself.

Your a staunch Texan;-) work when sick...hope your better soon, sometimes it's best to stay home a day or two when it's that bad.

I kinda know how you feel, Karen. I've worked sick many times. Mostly, it was minor illnesses that went away as quick as they came. I've worked with splitting headaches before and boy was that torture. That's why I get upset with some of these college kids who call off because they "just don't feel good." That tells me they must have felt pretty good the night before. Oh well, I'm ranting I guess. Muddle through, Karen. You're a trooper!

you know honey, I used to let my job abuse me. i'd never call in and I'd work doubles most of the time. but i realized that I needed a chance to live so I quit and they actually called me back!!! of course i'm back to doubles but it's ok because now I get to offer to pick up the extra shifts.
the point is, don't let them use you, especially if you are sick because it's against the law. you can't be working especially in your line of work, if you have sickness. put your foot down or put it up their ass and walk out. having money isn't everything and you know I'd help as much as I can if you really needed it.
