Resting In The Arms Of Love
By La Belle Rouge

you know the things not expressed
the reasons inexplicable to the world
of why things are as they must be
why the choosing of an unselfish path
because if there was another choice
those left in the shadows would perish
you know my heart, as I know yours
hearts remaining unrevealed to others
mutually bared in cold light of honesty
and if a different choice came easily
would you admire the woman I became?
or would the love that draws you to me
dissipate because of the callousness
of a cold heart exposed in your eyes?

from you I have no need of explanation
nor do you from me, we are undeniably
kindred spirits trusting in destiny’s mercy
and if you were a lesser breed of man
could I admire, adore you, now and ever?
no it is not within either of us to abandon
the responsibilities laid on our shoulders
the eternal expectations of Heaven’s trust
no we will not betray such a divine trust
there are many ways to touch, be touched
kisses deeper than those from clay lips
for love is patient, and those begotten
by love learn to lie in love’s arms quietly
resting together are my heart and yours

... words hand-stitched on the heart and tear-stained pillow that many rest the cheeks of their woes against during dark, lonesome nights, Belle. Scarce has such shared yet deeply personalised feeling been articulated so well. A clincher if ever there was one. As always, beyond immitating and beyond imitation. There is only one Poetess of Such Truth. xx

I think your words and this poetry are ones many of us can readily relate to for our hearts are not ruled by logic and neither can love be denied by the heart...but sadly the mind and compassion often must over ride love for loves sake and make it a secret to be shared by only two...

Truly beautiful lines Belle. Time and time again the inspirational purity of your feelings come through and each more beautifully expressed. Just great.
