It's a new kind of solitaire that I play,
Over and over again while you're away.
My mind plays the empty, lonely game
Of waiting for your voice to whisper my name,
And expecting you to walk through that door.
All are just games, a necessary means to ignore.

I've gotta be patient...learn to wait for awhile
To again touch those lips and kiss that sweet smile.

I find games to ease the pain in my heart
While I endure the agony of our being apart,
And play the games while I continue to wait
On the table, I place two glasses and two plates,
Fluff up your pillow to await that beautiful drowsy head
And turn down the covers on your side of the bed

I've gotta be patient...learn to wait awhile
To again touch those lips and kiss that sweet smile.
