Dedicated to all the young out there who are suffering and in need...

A Conversation With A Higher Power

Last night I had a little conversation

With someone I don’t always understand

I said:

“Lord I’m asking of you a favor

I’m reaching out for a helping hand

Lord I look around and see such suffering

It may be wrong to question where you’ve been

I wonder how you could allow such pain

Of a child too young to even know about sin

I know the priests, rabi's  and ministers

Will say we have to have blind faith and pray

But Lord…I humbly think it’s time for you to step up

To tell the innocents they don’t have to pay

Tonight I 'm not asking anything for myself

Although in a way I guess I really am its true

I know out there an innocent is hurting

Maybe her fate is up to me begging you

You see I've lived my four score and twenty

In most ways I've been truly blessed

I tried never to ask too much from you

but sometimes you put me to the test

Oh yes Lord, I know that I’m a sinner

But I’m trying to mend my ways of past

So if you’d just punish me instead of her

I truly hope that’s not too much to ask…

So I’m going to say goodnight now Lord

I know this may not be the way the angels pray

I just thought tonight I’d talk to you one on one

And hope you’d hear what I had to say…”

I believe that He hears every prayer. Sometimes we don't understand why he doesn't answer our prayers the way we would like Him too but he will answer them in the way He wants it to be. I loved your prayer Fee.

The innocents of the world, of all kinds, seem to suffer the most, and I often ask myself why.

Unfortunately this dedication is needed by so many, it is God and my faith that guides me during times that are so unbearable, to see one suffer, especially children is difficult beyond words, your poem of prayer is felt from within~ ty for this Fee~

(((HUGS))) I felt your heart in these lines ... many times, I find myself questioning Him, why He allows certain things to go on. Powerfully penned, Fee. I've missed you.

Your prayer has not only touched Our Lord, but those of us who have read this. I add my prayer to yours. Many times, I've asked Him to let me be the one who should bear such a burdern, not the other person. He hears my plea by giving me the courage to stand up for what is right and minimize the plight of others. ... I guess I'm a better fighter.
Thank you (from the bottom of my heart) for such a passionate please.

God bless you. Kathy

OH MY GOD! I'm crying like a baby! I applaud the beautiful heart that wrote this awesome poem/prayer.

Most of us adults were once the "innocents" and have pain lingering, still. So I'm sure many will be touched by this.

Though I've been a sinner too, I also feel like one of those innocents and can't understand why some things happen and what I did to deserve it or what lessons I'm supposed to be learning that I may not be getting. I try so hard to be and give and do what I need for myself, but on and on the difficulties go. . .with no one caring to help. This world feels way too cruel and uncaring, to me. (I'm just biding my time until God decides to finally bring me home.) And this is why, when I see a rare heart caring about others, it touches my heart so deeply. Thank you for caring.
