Jerusalem
White-stone buildings gleam
Like diamonds in the noonday sun!
I can hardly control the fluttering
Of anxious butterflies within;
Soon I will set foot upon the Holy City!
My thoughts focus on Jesus—
His journey down the Mount of Olives on a colt;
While throngs waved palm branches and sang
“Hosanna: Blessed is He that cometh
In the name of the Lord!”
I imagine the upper room,
The Garden of Gethsemane;
The Via Dolorosa, the Garden Tomb
Mt Moriah (now the Temple Mount)
Where Abraham was to sacrifice Isaac;
I am about to see all these places!
I say very little, for I am overwhelmed!
I can hardly believe I’m in the Holy Land!
God has been gracious in making this possible!
“And many nations shall come, and say,
Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,
And to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will
Teach us His ways, and we will walk in His paths; for
The law shall go forth of Zion, and the word
Of the LORD from Jerusalem.”
(Micah 4:2)
