Inspired by the song, "Mr. Cellophane" from the musical, "Chicago." The title, "It's All Over" is obviously a "double entente."

It’s All Over

It’s all over

It’s not just me
I am not odd
I am not alien
I am human
Some would say a poet
a romantic fool
But I am not alone

I have a yen
For soothing rain
On my naked sunburnt skin
For a hot mineral spring
Flowing forth from the depths
Onto my aching muscles
And much deeper still
Into my soul
And into the essence of me

Like many others I have
This yearning to be noticed
This craving to be accepted
This aching to be held
This desire to be desired
This wish to mean something
This hunger to matter
This thirst to be needed
This longing to belong
This dying to be loved

It's not just me
It’s all over

OMG Reg you know definitely I can identify with this entire piece word for word. Your chosen subject isn't about being all over, it is about being. If only everybody in the world would just let us be who we are, no matter who it is that we are, they should just let us be. It would make the world a much better place to live. Thank you for sharing this soul baring piece.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie

I am not a fan of the flow mainly in the first two stanzas. It's not smooth from line to line in my opinion. I think the following line could be rewritten: But I am not alone in this. I would definitely work on this poem a little bit. It could be tightened up and made better - mainly focusing on first stanza. The poem sounds emotional and that is a good thing. People might even relate to it. Good first draft I'd say.

The fact that you can recite this poem in French should wow any lady into your orbit, Regis!

It's true, though, romantic souls have to keep their hearts well hid from the cynical and the hard-boiled. 'Be careful, strive to be happy!' as the Desiderata advises so wisely.
