At any one moment in life, everthing is more or less fine. In the next ...

THE PASTRY CHEF

THEN .... OUT THROUGH THE WINDOW
... HIS BODY ON FIRE,
ALL THE PASTRIES WERE SCATTERED AROUND.
THE FIRE WENT OUT WITH THE FIRST GUST OF WIND.
... 99 FLOORS TO THE GROUND.

WHAT'S HAPPENED HE WONDERED TO REASON.
THE CHAOS, THE DEAD AND THE HEAT.
ONE MOMENT A CHEF IN THE TOWER ...
... 80 FLOORS DOWN TO THE STREET.

MY GOD ... MY GOD... MY ONLY GOD,
YOUR SERVANT IS ALMOST TO DIE.
REMEMBER ME IN A MOMENT.
... 50 FLOORS UP IN THE SKY.

HE SPINS TO FACE THE HEAVENS,
HIS SPEED IS UP TO MAX.
HE SEES THE EYES OF GOD ON HIM,
... 20 FLOORS DOWN TO THE BLACKS.

HE GASPS A BREATH INSIDE HIMSELF
HIS EYES ARE CLOSED UP TIGHT,
IT'S OVER IN AN INSTANT,
HE STANDS BEFORE THE LIGHT.

A SAINT AND A HERO, A VICTIM OF WAR,
... FIRST SOLDIERS IN BATTLE TO DIE.
A PICTURE OF COURAGE, OF HATRED AND WASTE.
WE'LL NEVER FORGET YOU ... NO LIE!

HIS GRAVE IN A CORNER ON THE MEZZANINE ROOF,
THE TOWER PILED DEEP ON HIS BONES.
WE'VE ONLY THAT PICTURE ... A MOMENT IN TIME,
"SUCH HORROR", WE SADLY BEMOAN.

I FEAR THAT IT'S JUST THE BEGINNING,
MORE FIRES, DEBRIS, AND REVENGE.
MORE TOWERS, MORE CITIES, MORE CHAOS,
THE PROMISE TO SOMEDAY AVENGE.

THEY NEVER FOUND HIS WEDDING RING,
THEY NEVER HEARD HIS SCREAM.
THEY NEVER FOUND A TRACE OF HIM
A NIGHTMARE ... NOT A DREAM.
