I greet you each morning from the eastern sky
The darkness of night acknowledges my orange glow
Before long it forfeits its hold on the western sky
Soon I have full jurisdiction over a sky of blue
And I play joyfully with the clouds as they flow by
I bring warmth and light to awaken you
My day has begun as I slowly rise in the east
And getting warmer and brighter by the middle of the day
I watch from above as the wind plays through the trees
And they wave proudly as if to say
Hello Dear friend we welcome you warmth on this cold January day
By evening time I will have traveled west and soon concede once more to the darkness
I say hello and a quick goodbye to the moon as I prepare for my rest
Be not sad my dear friend for I will only take leave for the night
You will once more be awakened in the morning to the orange glow of my light
